Sky Optics‘ OSFP112 400G DR4+ (XDR4) transceiver is designed for 400 Gigabit Ethernet and 400G NDR InfiniBand links over 2km single-mode fiber, offering extended reach beyond standard 500m DR4. The module automatically supports both InfiniBand and Ethernet depending on the connected host. With 4 independent electrical channels operating up to 106.25Gbps per channel (4x112G PAM4), it delivers 400G bandwidth using the advanced 400GAUI-4 electrical interface.

The transmitter path incorporates a bidirectional PAM4 retimer ASIC integrated with EML (Electro-absorption Modulated Laser) and 4-channel internal driver, operating on a set of CWDM wavelengths around 1310nm per ITU G.694.2. On the receiver path, it uses 4 photodiodes and a 4-channel TIA array. The module features a riding heat sink design (Riding HS) for optimized thermal management.

With 2km reach, low power consumption (< 9W), and MPO-12 connector, this module bridges the gap between DR4 (500m) and FR4 (2km) applications, offering a cost-effective solution for campus and metro data center interconnects.
